Before every Lower body session I ALWAYS activate my Glutes! I also do this after a long car journey or if I've had a day whereby I haven't been on my feet that much. Because a lot of people sit at a desk all day their Glutes become inactive & are probably not firing properly when working out. With me, this used to lead to lower back pain. Especially when squatting. I never realised the importance of Glute activation to help avoid injury. If you are squatting, lunging & doing kick backs galore and your Glutes still aren’t looking 'perky' it may be because they aren’t actually activated during the exercises. This little warmup I'm doing looks easy but it burns like a beeatch!!! I do this for around 2 mins as well as clamshells with the band, around 30 on each leg. It's made a hell of a difference in both my strength & mobility when training lower body and it's also given me a tad more of a peach which I'm loving! ? #Glutesthatsalute ?
