I have some AMAZING news that I want to announce. ❤️❤️Thank you to all my followers who sent me notes in the last few days about this exciting news at @banfieldpethospital To confirm the good news I reached out to many Banfield practices today in America and most of them were happy to say they have stopped declawing kitties!
Yes this is really hard to believe but it's true! Even in the Midwest where declawing is a routine procedure!!! Tomorrow, please reach out to your local Banfields to see if they have stopped and let me know! Give Them Love!!! An email was sent to all Banfield managers and they have pledged to support, "a culture in the United States where performing elective declaw of cats is no longer an accepted practice. (Banfield's) goal is to reduce and eventually eliminate elective declaws." Many of these practices have thankfully already started doing the right thing and are not amputating kitties toes.
The @pawproject has been trying to get Banfield to stop declawing kitties for over 15 yrs and I've been trying to inspire them to be the first to stop this disabling and inhumane procedure for at least 2 yrs.
