Seeing women like #iman and #beverlyjohnson in magazines made me bold enough to keep trying even though I was told I couldn’t make it wouldn’t make it because I was too dark, too light, too tall, too big. I'm grateful those were not the voices that mattered to me because my brothers told me I was strong, my dad and mom told me I was smart and my sister told me someone’s gotta do it, so why not me? Today my #bold inner 15 year old self woke me up saying "hey, you, wake up, i'm still in here!'
