Lyndsey Scott, a professional model who has walked the runways for brands like Victoria's Secret, Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Prada, is also an accomplished computer programmer and @Science’s #WCW. Scott graduated with a double major in both computer programming and theater from Amherst College and, in 2009, became the first African American woman to land a contract with Calvin Klein at New York Fashion Week. Her focus is primarily in app development and she has created an iOS app called Educate!, which helps find sponsors for Ugandan students and gets them interested in entrepreneurship. “I learned about Educate! in college. It was an organization founded by two Amherst students. When I found out that Uganda has the youngest population in the world and the highest youth poverty rate, I wanted to get involved,” said Scott.
