Caught power napping after my on-call shift ?? The key to a refreshing nap is all about timing. Unless you're planning on going for the full 90 minutes, you never want to nap longer than 30 minutes. The best quality naps are 10-20 minutes as they let your body relax but do not give your brain enough time to go into the REM (rapid eye movement) phase of sleep. If you awake during the REM phase you might feel even more groggy than before your nap! So the keys to naps: keep them short, keep the room quiet and dream away!
