Yesterday afternoon I was working by my window, Jill was napping in her nest in the cat tree and it happened. Transformers blew, lights going out, wind and rain going straight against my window. I couldn't see a thing. I grabbed a sleeping squirrel and took off to the securest place in the house. A tornado, just passing though.

I had been preparing all morning for it to happen. I had her travel kennel ready just in case. I should have known. I noticed something was different about Jill. She kept going back to her nest (in the cat tree), frantically patting it down. She even got in her nest (in her cage). It was way too early for her to be in bed.
She knew. She was in the safest, most accessible place for me to have a grab-n-go squirrel.
