Driving through the #Mojavedesert headed to Taos, little Dougie napping soundly in the seat beside me, I looked up as the road straightened out before us and was met with a most beautiful #sunset: clouds of orange and pink reaching out from between the dusty mountain peaks as if beckoning me to Heaven. Perhaps because I had been driving through the sage colored dessert for hours, or maybe because I had been contemplating the significance of taking my first extended #roadtrip without “My GUY,” free to experience my own thoughts, feelings and desires without interruption, I had the most incredible sensation.
I suddenly felt completely connected to everything, to everyone. I experienced the beauty that stretched out before me as if it were coming from within me. It was palpable. I simply felt…beautiful. Wholly, entirely beautiful, right here and now, as I am, where I am. Not after I lose five pounds, or get my house more organized or get my next series. I felt as unique and #beautiful as that sunset itself and it occurred to me…
