Villa 0-2 Liverpool – HT: Daniel Sturridge and James Milner were on target as Liverpool dominated the first period at Villa Park. Sturridge netted with the first real chance of the game on 16 minutes, beating Mark Bunn with a downward header from Philippe Coutinho’s cross. And former Villa midfielder Milner made it 2-0 eight minutes later when his in-swinging free-kick deceived everyone on its way into the far corner. Rémi Garde’s men were restricted to half chances – Simon Mignolet comfortably saved a Jores Okore header and Ashley Westwood sent a fierce drive wide. Bunn made a superb one-handed save at the end of the half to keep out Sturridge’s left-foot shot. #AVFC #LFC #AVLLIV
