#OnThisDay in 2003, Didier Drogba scored his first goal for Côte d'Ivoire in a 3-0 win over Cameroon. The striker earned his first cap the previous September. He is currently their all-time top scorer with a total of 65 goals in 104 appearances. Drogba went on to captain the national team and was named the African Footballer of the Year in 2006 and 2009. He played in three FIFA World Cups (2006, 2010 and 2014).
