Earth, Wind and Fire vocalist #MauriceWhite died in his sleep in Los Angeles on Wednesday evening. #White, who helped form the group in 1969, innovated a lush, eclectic style that drew inspiration from #funk, #jazz and #R&B for a unique sound that set the tone for soul music in the Seventies.
