Here is a photo of Yarnell with a foster volunteer!!! His new name is Allistor! He’s the frail, declawed kitty that was dumped in the OC Animal Care shelter in Orange, Ca. He is doing really well in his new foster home!
Here is a note about him that the people at this awesome rescue, FHPRsouth.org, sent me. “Allistor goes back for a recheck at the vet in 2 wks. He is currently on meds for hyperthyroidism. My vet told me that this condition can cause the heart murmur & can also disguise any kidney problems. So far his labs haven't shown kidney problems. In 2 wks labs will be done again to see if his thyroid meds are helping or if any dosage adjustments are needed. At this time my vet will check his heart & kidney function to determine if any other tests or ultrasound is needed.
Allistor is a very sweet & loving boy. My vet feels the age the shelter determined for him may not be accurate since hyperthyroidism can occur in kitties as young as 7 yrs old. He teeth are bad and will eventually need dental work.
