Yikes. #angelsinamerica at the#royalnationaltheatre in 1992. #StephenDillane (Stannis Baratheon in #gameofthrones) and I dancing to Moon River. Not a dry eye in the house. Still easily the best writing and storytelling I've been lucky enough to be a part of in my life. There's a revival next year at the RNT with Andrew Garfield. Go, if you get a chance, because it'll entertain you, make you laugh, make you cry, make you think, yes, but also to expunge the memory of the well-meaning but, ultimately, terrible HBO version. Not anybody's fault, but this is pure and brilliant THEATRE. You can't make it a screen story any more than you could make the Mona Lisa into a sandwich, or Schindler's List into a tap dance. Wait, they did what at the Oscars?!!
