President Obama made his first visit to a U.S. mosque as president on Wednesday with an appearance at the Islamic Society of Baltimore. “We have to reject a politics that seeks to manipulate prejudice or bias and targets people because of religion,” he said in his remarks at the mosque, which has a congregation of 3,000 and includes a school and a health clinic. Citing groups such as al Qaeda and Islamic State, he added: “The best way to fight terrorism is to deny these organizations legitimacy and to show that here in the United States of America we do not suppress Islam.” Read more at the link in our bio.
