On this day in 1898, Alvar Aalto was born Kuortane, Finland. Aalto is one of the great masters of modern architecture and design, his work embraced key public institutions as well as standardized housing and private homes.
Aalto began designing furnishings for his architectural projects and co-founded Artek in 1935. His iconic furniture pieces have made him one of the most important designers of the 20th century. #alvaraalto #artek
