Right after I graduated from High School in 1982 I took a photography class at a community college. I was specifically interested in skateboard photography and had no interest in shooting anything else but the class demanded more. I borrowed my older brother’s Minolta and a 50mm lens and got my parents to purchase some rolls of film (told them it was for school assignments). During the first month of class I had the chance to go to Palmdale for the Great Desert Ramp Battle (February 1983) and I brought the camera with me to possibly shoot a few photos from the sidelines. I ended up shooting one roll and had them printed at the grocery store (didn’t want to get caught using the school darkroom for personal stuff) and somehow ended up keeping a few prints all these years but lost the negatives long ago. This photo of @steviecab was by far the best shot of the 24 on the roll and I often call it the first skate photo I ever shot (even though it was years before I really started shooting skateboarding. About a month after I shot this roll, my brother’s camera was stolen out of the front seat of my truck and I had to drop the class. ?: @daveswift01 || #ShootAllSkaters
