Takashi Murakami's #superflatcollection at #yokohamamuseumofart opened Jan. 30th
This was an advert I painted over in 1997 with Barry Mcgee and left on the street in San Francisco when I was staying with him. It was stolen soon after. Fast forward to I think 2005 or 6 when I first drove with @NIGO to Takashi's studio in Japan Nigo had mentioned that Takashi already owned one of my works and I thought he was mistaken so I asked Takashi when I got there and he told me he had bought this work at auction a few years earlier. It's strange how the world works, but I'm happy to know Takashi has this work and included it in his show at Yokahama Museum along with another more recent painting of mine and his amazing collection.. Show runs from Jan 30th- April 3rd 2016 #KAWS
