This is the 1st photo I ever took of Richard -- in a cardboard box on the way home from the shelter. He was so scared, having been surrendered to a high-kill shelter here in LA, dealing with terrifying noises and an uncertain future. Someone had just adopted his sister cat whom he'd grown up with. Now he was in a cage all alone. I picked him up, he nuzzled into me, and I never let him go. #StartAStoryAdopt

Richard, @Lil BUB, @hamiltonpug were all adopted from shelters, and we're all joining in on @ShelterPetProject's efforts to increase adoptions. Good animals deserve a second chance. #StartAStoryAdopt
