When she was little, @nataliastuyk’s dad taught her that “everything in life is designed from motion.” Those words have been with her ever since. The London-based director and video artist’s rainbow-coated loops and GIFs like the one pictured here are all based on action — animated folds floating in space, twisting in, up and around as they morph into new shapes and sizes. But Natalia, who’s previously collaborated with bands like Basement Jaxx and Django Django, begins her work in an unexpected place. “I use sound as a starting point and then I craft a story to go along with it,” she says. From there, she will work on the video and sound together, fine-tuning each one as they develop alongside each other. Like the final piece, Natalia’s creative process is — no surprise — constantly moving.
