Ahead of her new show @vamuseum, celebrated ceramicist #AlisonBritton is taking over the AnOther Instagram with an array of stripe-inspired imagery. First up, Flute (2015), a beautiful piece of her own pottery. "In my newest series of pots I have corrugated my rolled out clay by running wet fingers through it. The hyper-slippery hand in clay is normal for throwers, but less familiar for hand builders like me. I like the wet sensation; clay made more susceptible but not too soft. The ridges give me an exhilarating lack of control in pouring runs of colour down the pot, or trailing a line of slip across the stripes to make a juddering arc."
