Very simple: We always have kids because breeding facilities are still allowed to function in our country, something that the Mexican Government, @antoniofranyuti @_animalheroes_ and us are trying to change. Remember like 8 months ago that I asked you publicly to help me tag @iamdiddy to ask him for a donation to help me rescue 87 Animals? Well, I wanted to buy them out, in order to retire their Animals, the biggest Lion breeding facility in Latin America. Look it up if you don't believe me, It is somewhere back there. To raise a cub is a very expensive and hard thing to do, both technically and time consuming wise. So sometimes, when a first time mom at a breeding facility rejects her litter (80 percent of the time they reject them), they contact us to see if we would like to take care of them WITHOUT PAYING FOR THEM. And being the most famous Sanctuary on the Planet, sometimes we are contacted every week, specially during mating season. I must have the Guinness record for bottle feeding Big Feline cubs with more than 90. Something that I am very proud off, is the fact that I have never said no to a rescue. To buy a Lion Cub is very cheap here in Mexico, so sometimes I spend 2 or 3 times the money of what a Lion cub costs only in transportation and veterinary services for one single rescue than what it would cost me to buy a cub if I wanted to. Remember baby Ronda's Umbilical chord infection? Limubai and Generalito's Pneumonia when we got them? Phoenix had to be transported by plane in order to try to save him. You've seen trailers and trailers arriving with rescues from the circus which I can't interact with, so from an economical point of view they only cost money to cure, transport, house and feed. Do you know how hard it is to load a trailer with Lions, Tigers, Leopards or Jaguars? Do you know how many people are needed and how expensive that is? But why do we do this? For the sake of those Animals. And you know what is funny? That we are the only Sanctuary in Mexico for Big Felines and we DO NOT have a license to breed or sell Animals. We would be shut down by the Government @semarnat_mx immediately.
