Find out how our weekly content creator @samthecobra got his start in New York City: "When I graduated from school in 2013, I moved to New York City and only had a month and a half of rent saved up. I started bicycling around and meeting people through @Instagram. I met this underground NYC world of creators. That’s how I met some of my best friends today. We were constantly exploring the city. I started to see that if you could tell a cool story, which is easy to do in NYC since it‘s such a beautiful landscape, people would engage. Getting noticed on any platform comes down to creating quality content consistently. Eventually though, I started to run out of money. I ended up reaching out to my @Instagram audience of 2-3K at the time and said that I was looking for a job. One of my followers hooked me up with an interview at a start-up. A month later, I got the job—my first real one, and it was all through @Instagram. It was then that I realized how powerful this tool was and how many people you could speak to and get a real response.”
