On a recent Friday, the Museum of Modern Art quietly welcomed the millionth visitor to free Friday nights, when admission is free from 4 to 8 p.m. There was a parade of students, tourists and bargain-seeking New Yorkers (many on date nights) who braved a chilly night waiting in line.
