A year ago today this man right here and I sat at our kitchen table in Malibu in our sweatpants and got married by a guy we found on the internet. A few hours later we hopped a plane to NZ and the following day we were married again on the beach with just a couple native Maori dudes and a Maori elder. My dress was $120 bucks from Free People and his attire was probably cheaper than that and I don't even know where we got it.... Banana Republic..? I did my own hair and wore only a lil mascara. It wasn't about any of that stuff, it was about the two of us. And it still is. All the other stuff doesn't matter. What matters is what's left after you strip all the other stuff away and truly see the other person and allow them to see you for exactly who you are and who you aspire to be. Then, you support them in becoming the best them possible without losing sight of yourself. It's a delicate intricate dance but one that I do willingly and with the biggest smile on my face with you, Darin. I am finally the woman I have always wanted to be because of our partnership. So, here we are, a year later after all the twists and turns that were thrown in our path and all the growing we had to do- Relationships ain't for the weak that's for shit sure! We made it through year one! And I can honestly say that I love you 100% more today than I did this day last year.
