SENIOR SUNDAY! Here's an update from a @susiesseniordogs we featured last September!

Cheryl wrote, "I am writing with a very long overdue update on 11 year old Billy, who was featured in September 2014. I was in no way, shape, or form looking for a dog when I saw Billy’s post. Billy had a sad story, but it was his picture that stayed with me. After a week of fretting and running the idea past some straight-talking friends, I decided to disregard my head and follow my heart. I submitted my application. When I met Billy he was lying down with his front paws daintily crossed, and all of my worries melted away. He looked at me and gave me a thump thump of his tail, and I knew that he was meant to be part of our pack.
Perhaps his most endearing quality is that he is the happiest dog ever with the dopiest grin ever. He has the most loving personality and his tail thump is to die for. He is an absolute joy to have around. He can also be a mischievous rascal, too. He is a food thief, and my son Ben has quickly learned the dangers of leaving any food or drink where Billy can reach it. For someone so slow, he is a stealthy little bugger who can find his way to another dog’s food bowl or any dropped food faster than we can.
Billy is a regular fixture at our local dog park and takes his job as greeter and happy barker very seriously. He has a following there too. Last winter was a brutal one for us, but Billy braved the park in his red sweater and got a little help with a wagon when the terrain was too treacherous for his arthritis.
I always tell people that their dog will find them, it just might not be the one they were expecting. You can always find a million reasons not to do something, but sometimes you need to ignore those and find the one reason to go ahead and do it. We are so much better for having him in our lives. And I think I can speak for Billy when I say he has been very happy with us and knows he is loved greatly."
