Last month’s viral story was undoubtedly Essena O’Neill. It’s DAY TWENTY of the Dazed advent.

O’Neill was an Instagram-famous model who re-edited her post archive to show her 600k followers how fake her life was. It painted a lonely world full of pressure and isolation – but was that whole act fake too? At the time she created a site called letsbegamechangers.com, posting a tearful video thanking everyone for their support. It is now essenaoneill.com, and states she is currently writing her first book ‘How to be social media famous’. Confused? Us too. (November, 2015)
