This evening the beautiful Marwar Hall, at the palace of His Highness Gaj Singh II, will play host to our event, The Birds of Chandrapore. The evening is a celebration of British and Indian cultures and it will highlight the importance of cross-cultural dialogue between the two. Inspired by E.M Forster’s literary masterpiece A Passage to India, Royal Salute has collaborated with contemporary Indian poet Abhay Tiwari, painter Mahaveer Swami and choreographer Gautam Pal to recreate an evening imagined in the final chapters of the book with dancing, poetry and a banquet. The title and beautiful invites for the event were inspired by the unidentifiable green bird motif that runs throughout Forster’s novel.
