Today is a BIG day. We are officially launching our very first @109world campaign! Starting a non-profit organization is not easy and it's been a long journey and a ton of work to get here. The campaign goes live in a few hours but before we dive deeper into changing the world... Here is how 109 works:
@109world focuses on seven urgent global causes: -?Environment (Caring for our planet)
-?Women (Female empowerment)
-?World Hunger (Ensuring food security)
-?Animals (Animal Rescue and Wildlife Conservation)
-?Education (Making education accessible for all)
-?Children (Ensuring the wellbeing and safety for children in impoverished areas)
-?Water (Ocean conservation and Clean Water Initiatives)
Each cause relates to local projects in different parts of the world. As of now we have begun in Nicaragua, Latvia, Colombia, Rwanda, India and Brazil and will be adding more countries to the list. We research and travel to areas in need, scouting the right projects to support and campaign for. Once we have found the right organizations to aid we create a 109 campaign, using social media to raise awareness and funds for the cause. THIS IS WHERE YOU COME IN.
Each campaign lasts for 109 days during which you will be able to actively participate to fight for a cause you are passionate about and to help people in need. The campaign will contain ways for you to get active in your own local area as well as challenges, competitions, community work and more. We believe that YOU have the power to change the world - because you do!
The 109-day campaign peaks with a social mission trip where we bring people to the area in need to explore the culture, get insight into the problem the community is facing and also do hands-on work to actively make a change. In addition, we'll be practicing yoga every day and experience the beauty of each place we visit. Like a yoga retreat - but instead of lying on a beach sipping piña coladas all day you get to do your part to make a change and help heal the world! Magic.
