Brush pen testing my new impossible-to-find Japanese-made "Shinnippon 365 Notebook" from @cwpencilenterprise and the verdict: this paper is the bee's knees!! I'm completely blown away as I did not expect this notebook paper to be able to hold up to black ink brush pens since the paper is translucent and extremely thin. As you can see there is bleeding but that is to be expected as the paper itself is translucent but the INCREDIBLE surprise is that there is absolutely no bleed-through on the following page whatsoever!!! There was a tiny bit of ink feathering depending on the brush pen but I found that the Sailor Fude Nagomi Brush Pen (available @jetpens), the @kuretakezig_usa Zig Cartoonist No. 22 Brush Pen & the @kuretakezig Clean Colour Real Brush Markers and the @pentelofamerica Aquash (in light black) were the best with this paper in terms of smooth lines. I imagine this notebook would be wonderful for brush pen calligraphy practice! I will do more testing with other mediums as well but I am so delighted that my beloved brush pens are very doable with this mysteriously lovely Shinnippon 365 Notebook. Smitten all the more now. ❤️? [Side note: I tested this out on the shiny-smooth side of the paper and will do another testing of the toothy side]
