Check out this amazing #winter photo that #CanonExplorerOfLight @tylerstableford captured using a #Canon EOS-1D Mark IV and a Canon EF 15mm f/2.8 Fisheye lens at 1/2000 @ f/8, ISO 400.

From Tyler: "I chose to capture this shot with a 15mm fisheye lens in order to get as close to the action as possible. When shooting skiers, I usually take off my skis so that they don't cross under the athlete's skis and often ask them to "ski right by me." It usually takes them a couple of times to realize that I really mean it, and just after this shot was taken, the skier's right hand struck my camera, which is exactly how close I wanted him!
A tip for shooting in the snow: keep your cameras cold! When shooting in a snowstorm or when snow is blowing onto your camera gear, you want your camera and lenses below freezing so that snow doesn't melt and then freeze on your gear, which then makes it impossible to clean your lenses. But if the lenses are already frozen, the snow just dusts off easily. I'll often keep my camera gear in the car the night before a shoot to keep it cold. When coming back into the warmth after a snow shoot it can also be helpful to put the camera gear in bags to prevent excess condensation from building up on the gear."
