Been on this train from Providence to New York City since 5:40am and yes I have no make up on. I'm heading to NYC to work on another TV project that I'm super excited about. There is a lot of sacrifice that goes into being a working woman in the entertainment business. Lots of missed holidays with the family, relationships and motherhood often gets put on the back burner and lots of time solo to think and reflect. It's hard to say at times if the sacrifice is worth it. Sometimes it is and sometimes it isn't but I know one thing for sure--- I'd much rather give it my all and know that I at least gave 100% then to live with regret and think "damn I wonder if..." People ask me for advice all the time regarding getting in the business and I tell them- if you can't take being criticized (that's a tough one for me) don't do it. If you can't be away from friends and family-- don't even bother. If you need stability- forget about it. And if you can't be alone--- this ain't the career for you. BUT on the flip- if you wanna be able to see the world-try it. If you want to experience things you never imagined you would as a little girl/boy- give it a shot. If you enjoy making people smile and trying to be the best role model YOU can be--- and you're willing to do the work and never lose your optimism even when it feels like it's you against the world----then YES this life is for you! Hope this doesn't come off too dramatic- but when I used to make this trip from Providence to NYC 3 times a week 20 years ago trying to get started as a model (but usually on the bus cause it was much cheaper and a sister was broke back then!) I used to do a lot of thinking and dreaming on this 3 hour ride to the big city. I didn't know where my journey would take me... But I did know I wanted to find out. Follow your dreams my friends. No matter how impossible the goal line may seem away. If you have the drive and the kind of spirit that doesn't take no for an answer....
