This is Katie and Alan. Our @greglalas met them this morning at One Line Coffee in the Short North district of Columbus.
Katie is a lifelong @columbuscrewsc supporter -- "My whole family is Crew," she says -- and Alan has @timbersfc in his blood: His mother is the lone member of Timbers Army's Tallahassee chapter. They live in Portland but flew out to Columbus on Friday, because there was no way they were going to miss this #MLSCup.
The final will obviously present a test for their relationship, one they've actually faced before. Earlier this year, when the Timbers played at Crew SC during the regular season, the couple went out of their way to avoid any potential conflicts during the game. Rather than watch the match -- Portland won, 2-1 -- Katie and Alan donned their respective jerseys and went for a hike in the mountains outside of Portland.
For #MLSCup, they have another plan in place: "We are not sitting together," Katie declares.
