A year ago, the producers of “The Color Purple” called Jennifer Hudson (@ジェニファー・ハドソン) and asked if she would consider joining the cast of the Broadway show’s revival. “I said: ‘Sure. Yes. Great. The answer: Shug Avery, a voluptuous nightclub singer who awakens the musical’s heroine to love and sexual pleasure. This came as something of a surprise.
