Today we celebrate Elissa Aalto, born on 22nd November 1922, who would have turned 93 years old on this day. In 1949 she graduated as an architect from Helsinki University of Technology and started working in the office of Alvar Aalto. They married three years later. Elissa worked closely together with Alvar and was involved in the competition projects the office undertook. She also designed textile patterns, such as the H55, for Artek. #artek #elissaaalto
