So, while in France we experienced the strangest figure skating event (in many ways), Bordeaux seemed to live its own life — cafes and shops were opened as usual, people still strolled around in downtown and among them, once in a while, you'd see some persons having competition badges on. Although, to my thinking, signals of emergency cars attracted attention more often and pretty much all of the places with TV on were demonstrating news channels only.
Due to my recent activity on Twitter, I've been asked many times, what skaters have been up to and how everybody was doing. I can't speak for everyone but it was simply a strange day. As for me, I basically spent the whole day with one of my favorite (and very topical today) subjects called Foreign Affairs and at night, I had the chance to take few shots of my skating friends.
Photography has become a great hobby of mine this past summer. Thanks to my awesome friends who would kindly support new avocation and pose whenever I asked them to. Their patience and popularity instantly sparkled my enthusiasm and I was lucky enough to shoot celebrated actresses, athlete stars and some models back home in Kazakhstan.
In Bordeaux, I started out a series of shots with few skaters. It was a good way to distract a little bit from recent news and the outcome looked fun. Photos are available here: @d10world. There are more to come.
