An explosion and shots rung out Friday night at Bataclan, a music venue in Paris where Eagles of Death Metal were playing. Several people have died as a result of the attack, and 60 hostages were taken at the concert hall, according to Montreal radio station CJAD. Agence France-Presse corroborated that hostages were taken.

The shootout was one of multiple attacks that occurred in the city that night. The New York Times reported that another one occurred at the city's sports stadium, where France's soccer team was playing Germany, prompting the evacuation of President François Hollande. The attacks reportedly killed as many as 18 people and other reports suggested people were taken hostage, according to the paper.
