The Te Rewa Rewa Bridge in #NewPlymouth, New Zealand, opened in 2010 following a special agreement between the Ngati Tawhirikura tribe and the New Plymouth District Council. The bridge is built near a sacred site with fantastic views of Mount Taranaki in the background.
Part of the award-winning New Plymouth Coastal Walkway, the bridge’s iconic form represents the sacred relationship between the land, sea and wind with the Ngati Tawhirikura tribe. Today, The Prince of Wales crossed the bridge with iwi (Maori community) leader Wharehoka Wano. #RoyalVisitNZ
