Carles Gil was at the heart of two brilliant pieces of play late in the half. The Spaniard raced after Idrissa Gana’s ball forward after the Senegalese midfielder quickly turned defence into attack from a City corner, but Aleksandar Kolarov got back in the nick of time to thwart Gil. Then Gil won a free-kick after his mazy run was halted by Nicolas Otamendi’s mistimed tackle. However, he couldn’t keep his shot down. #AVFC #MCFC #AVLMCI
