New rescue! Meet Willow, with the fluffiest ears we have ever seen? She has been living on a hill by one of the water tanks here on the island since she was born, together with her two siblings. We think her mommy passed away giving birth to them (there was an adult dog skeleton next to some bushes)? People have been feeding them so they are fairly used to humans but still very scared. We have only managed to catch little Willow so far but will continue trying to rescue the other two.
Today she got a her first ever bath (dirt brown water and bits of mud literally fell from her skin) and she's been eating a ton. She craves interaction and cuddles and touch so much but she is super scared of everything at the same time... She's been wagging her tail, wailing for us to touch her all day but when we reach for her she shies away. It's heart breaking!? Tonight, finally, we were allowed to touch her and she is purring like a cat, eyes closed, relaxed for the first time since we saved her. If I stop scratching her belly she pats me with her paw and licks my fingers, telling me to continue?
