My friend @emmahansen has just re-launched her blog Sincerely Skin (www.sincerelyskin.ca)! Emma's son, Reid, was born sleeping on his April 4th due date earlier this year because of a true knot in his umbilical cord. She shared his birth story "Born Still but Still Born" on her blog, Sincerely Skin, and it went viral, resulting in her receiving thousands of messages from families who had experienced the loss of a child. They weren't just giving their condolences, they were sharing their own stories too. A conversational taboo for years, stories of infant loss were demanding to be heard.

Sincerely Mama, the newest addition to her blog, was created as a result. It's a place where other mamas can share their stories, with a focus on supporting open discussions of the many layers that develop while living after your child dies. Reading and writing stories after loss can bring so much healing, and after experiencing it herself, Emma wanted to open up that opportunity to others.

The loss of a child is something that touches and affects us all.
