Meet Abby, Ryder, and Teeger. 3 kitties who were declawed at a AAHA veterinary hospital by a 30 yr member @AVMAvets /AAFP vet on 5/13/15. The vet who owned this AAHA hospital and the AVMA/AAFP vet, talked the cat owners out of using soft paws and said that declawing is a standard procedure and their cats will be fine. All 3 of the cats suffered horrific complications from being declawed. The vet's insurance company rep at Firemans Fund, an Allianz company, and through the CVMA, told the cat owners at around the $60,000 mark that the cost to help save these kitties was outrageous and that they would be better off putting them down and getting new cats.

There is a bill in NY to ban declawing so we need massive public support since the @AVMAvets and NYSVMS will fight with everything they have to keep declawing a procedure for their vets. Declawing is banned in most of the rest of the world and vets over there are appalled and shocked that vets in North America do this mutilating procedure and that it is done so often.
