I am stepping up. I'm tearing my walls down. I'm putting myself out there for everyone to see- in the honor of everyone who can't do it themselves. Mental illness is real. It's taking more lives than any of us could comprehend. It's affecting us all, wether we realize it or not. Even if you yourself aren't suffering, I bet you have a family member or friend who is. Maybe they haven't even told you, because they're ashamed, as so many people are. By telling my story and writing my blog, I'm taking the first of many steps I plan to take towards shattering the shame surrounding mental illness.t There is no shame in our game peopleeee. We can't choose our circumstances, but we can choose how we respond to them.
