#AroundTheWorldIn8Days The Bald Eagle is found all over the Continental United States and Alaska and is the country's National Bird, however the latter almost never came to be. The Founding Father's of the United States chose the bird to resemble the Roman Republic's iconic use of the Golden Eagle, but Benjamin Franklin was adamantly opposed. He felt the bald eagle has "bad moral character" and the Wild Turkey would be a more appropriate choice.
