I'm asked on a regular basis about the equipment I use and travel with while photographing assignments around the world. Since I'm leaving today on another snowy adventure, I thought I'd take some time in the air to share essentials for this upcoming arctic journey.
1. Warm Jacket. A warm photographer is a better photographer. No question. For shooting in cold environments where weight isn't an issue I love a long down jacket with a weather resistant shell. I've been digging on this @triplef.a.t.goose lately.

2. Waterproof Pants. I've found that if they are lightweight I always pack them. This pair from @ザ・ノースフェイス survived last winter in Nepal and Iceland... fingers crossed they make it through.
3. Mountain Boots. These are @scarpana Phantom 6000s. They are a proper climbing boot that are warm and can hike.

4. Good WHISKEY. Essential for stories about ?? with foreigners.

5. Snacks. Anyone who knows me knows I love homemade beef jerky. @uncle_andys_jerky is the closest I've found in the store.

6. Hand Trainer. Staying in climbing shape is hard on the road. Enter the @ivankobarbell Hand Trainer.
7. Climbing Gear. Be prepared they say -- I pack a climbing kit on every trip.

8. Card Wallet. I'm a fan of packs inside of packs. Stay organized! All of my ?equipment will get carried on the ✈️ and out in the ⛰ in a @fstopgear backpack. This card wallet has its own space.
9. Headlamp. I've been rocking this @petzl_official Nao for years: USB charging, you can disconnect the power for travel, and it goes up to a retina burning 575 lumens.
10. ?. For this trip I'll be shooting the @phaseonephoto XF camera with the IQ 80MP sensor. I'm addicted to how good these files look. I'll have glass from 28mm - 150mm.

11. E-Tip Gloves. I go through several pairs of liners a winter, I'm convinced they must make the 'e' part out of tissues. @アークテリクス makes the best gloves on the planet, and this is my first pair, so I have high hopes!

12. Passport.

13. Bag. I pack with bags inside of bags. This small 15L @soill is great because it packs down and doubles as wet weather protection.
14. Water Bottle. Stay hydrated, stay healthy.
