ON THIS DAY: West Ham United legend Alan Devonshire made his Hammers debut on 27 October 1976 in a League Cup tie v Queens Park Rangers.
'Dev', who was signed for just £5,000 from non-league Southall, went on to win the 1980 FA Cup, play for England and make 448 appearances in Claret and Blue.
