The high-revving AMG 6.3-liter V8 engine (M159) features dry sump lubrication and a performance-oriented intake and exhaust system. Opening the bonnet of the SLS AMG, SLS AMG Roadster, SLS AMG GT and SLS AMG Black Series provides a view of an outstanding high-performance engine specially developed by AMG for the Gullwing model. With a peak output of up to 420 kW/571 hp at 6800 rpm and 650 Nm of torque at 4750 rpm, the SLS AMG accelerates from zero up to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds, and has a top speed of 317 km/h (electronically limited). At its debut, the M159 set new standards and was the world's most powerful naturally aspirated series production engine.
