Today I have a heartwarming announcement❤️
A few days ago I did post about a low income, senior apartment complex that is owned by a very well known #church in #Oklahoma that was going to enforce the requirement of declawing all the cats on the premises.
I was alerted about this serious issue by residents and commend those of you who live there, who told me that no matter what, you weren’t going to amputate your kitties toe bones and claws despite knowing that it would be a hardship for you to find another place to live if you had to. I knew I needed to act fast because you told me that you were having nightmares, tears, and so much stress from this terrible thing hanging over your head.
Over the last couple months, I reached out to the pastor, the business manager of the church, and the apartment manager and tried to educate them with information on the horrific facts about declawing and tried to instill a humane mindset in them.
Today, I’m so happy and moved to say that this church has decided to do the right thing and not enforce the declawing requirement on the residents with cats.
They asked me to not mention who they are so I am honoring their requests. Sadly, They will not be allowing any pets at all in the complex for future senior residents, but I can't change that. ?
