#LonelyPlanet editor, @elly_alyssa_jones, is currently travelling throughout #Europe and took this shot of #Sklavrustgur in #Reykjavk, #Iceland. The street is still proudly wearing its rainbow colours following August’s Pride March (the city’s 17th celebration and one of Europe’s oldest #LGBTQ parades). Reykjavík has been described as one of the friendliest places and most inclusive on earth. In 2006, same-sex couples were granted equal rights with their heterosexual counterparts without limitation.
In the distance you can see #Hallgrmskirkja, Reykjavík’s immense white-concrete church, star of a thousand postcards, which dominates the city’s skyline, and is visible from up to 20km away. Get an unmissable view of the city by taking an elevator trip up the 74.5m-high tower.
