“One time I met this guy at a house party and we hit it off, vibing about music and a shared love for Forgetting Sarah Marshall. We started hanging out and a couple dates in, race came up in conversation. It hadn't before. He was white and lived in Beverly Hills. He said "I don't really consider you to be black. You don't act like most black people. I see you more as multiracial or biracial." He meant it as a compliment, with a smile.
