I once knew this girl who didn't miss a day of high school in four years. I thought she was weird. #DaleWebster hasn't missed a day of surfing in #14641 days and I think he's awesome! His impossible streak started on 9/3/1975. That's 365 days x 40 years + 10 leap days + 31 days = 14641 = 10/4/2015. That's 11 to the power of 4! (Oh, and he actually got the number of days incorrect in his wax. I'm sure I would too after so long). But today may mark the end of his streak. Dale has to have a minor surgery and will reportedly miss a couple weeks in the water. That's an attachment to a #DailyRitual I may never know but would likely not deal with very well. I'm sure doctors could diagnose and medicate such an #OCD 'malady' but I'm inspired and totally blown away by his dedication. We should all celebrate this man and his amazing, albeit obsessive and quirky, passion for simply going surfing. #ThankYouDale for reminding us every day since 1975 why we love what we do. And I hope you find a way to get out of that hospital bed and get a wave each day thru this challenge. Someone help the man out if you know him and #KeepTheStreakAlive!
