Records and Music Box Films just announced the release of “The Light That Never Fails,” the original song from @andradaymusic written for and featured in @merufilm. Inspired by artists such as Nina Simone, Etta James, Lauren Hill and Janis Joplin and discovered by Stevie Wonder, Andra just debuted her album Cheers To The Fall (Buskin/Warner Bros. Records) to much critical acclaim. NPR's Katie Presley recently praised her singing, saying it has "Eartha Kitt's unflappable confidence, Amy Winehouse's effortless grasp of classic jazz, Billie Holiday's access to raw emotion and Adele's range and pop sensibility.” Her song “Rise Up” was just featured in the Beats by Dre spot with Serena Williams. Basically, Andra Day is a badass and we are honored to have been able to collaborate with her on our film.
